It is highly regretful to announce the cancellation of the 8th ANGIS Meeting in Tokyo because of the worsening situation caused by the new Corona Virus. The meeting will be most probably held in late 2020 in Tokyo. A new announcement will be made when the situation becomes under control. I wish the peace and health of all the people concerned.

- The Asian Network for GIS-based Historical Studies (ANGIS) is a network for all academics interested in GIS-based historical studies on Asia.
- It serves as an umbrella network composed of various research groups or institutions (hereafter “units”) in the same field.
- ANGIS organizes an annual international conference.
- ANGIS publishes a peer reviewed E-Journal annually (JANGIS).
- ANGIS office is for the time being born by the secretary-general of ANGIS (JAPAN).
