About ANGIS
- The Asian Network for GIS-based Historical Studies (ANGIS) is a network for all academics interested in GIS-based
historical studies on Asia.
- It serves as an umbrella network composed of various research groups or institutions (hereafter “units”) in the same field.
ANGIS was founded in December, 2012, to serve the needs of units or members wishing to promote GIS-based historical studies
on Asia by exchanging ideas, techniques, or sources.
- ANGIS organizes an annual international conference.
- ANGIS organizes an editorial committee to publish peer reviewed E-Journal annually (JANGIS).(place of publication: Tokyo, Japan).
- Other activities may be proposed by the units or members at the annual general meeting to be held concurrently at the annual international conference.
- ANGIS office is for the time being born by the secretary-general of ANGIS (JAPAN).
